Worm disguised as Word file

A new worm, Tixcet.A is on the loose and attempting to pass itself off as a Word Document. The worm, discovered by Panda Labs at the end of May is claimed to be particulary destructive, deleting many files and replacing them with a copy of itself.

Among files at risk of being deleted include Word Documents, Powerpoint Presentations, MP3 files, ZIP archives and JPEG or JPG images.

My tip to you is to backup all your documents onto a DVD-RW disc for safe keeping just in case it comes your way.
