Re: Long Time Computer Problem
Do you still have the Linksys disc Jace ?
If Yes, then what I normally do is re-install it and then Un-install it, that way it does a complete un-install.
Then perform a registry clean to clear out any dead files and values that may have got left behind.
I highly recommend Glary Utilities for un-installing stuff as it has a neat way of removing any folder(s) that can get left behind .
If you don't have Glary Utilities you can download it from my 'Treasure Chest' section. I'm pretty sure the Free Edition has this un-install option, if it doesn't let me know and I can make sure it does in the future.
So, if the Free edition gives you the option click on 'Modules' then 'Clean Up & Repair' then open the 'uninstall manager'
Click on the program which you want to un-install, this will then bring up the programs un-install wizard. Continue with options it gives you, once it finishes you will see a box appear like this....
Click 'Delete All' and everything to do with that program will be deleted from your computer, so now you don't have to worry about folders you don't need clogging up your 'program files' folder
OR
There is another program you can use to get rid of stubborn files that are left after an un-install and it's called....
Unlocker
Link: Unlocker Website
It shows you a complete step-by-step guide on the webpage on how it works on best of all......IT'S FREE !!
