Corrupted web site screen

Strange one this. I have had the Barchester web site for some years now with never a problem until this last couple of weeks. This is the link :

Barchester

The background colour is supposed to be blue with everything formatted correctly and the site links at the top of the page. When I click on it the background is white with the site links down the LH side of the page and the writing below that a pale yellow that is too faint to read.
I have tried the link on my wife's computer and the chap next door with the same result but another friend in the UK, and Freewebs, see the site as it should be. I am totally lost for an explanation.

Hi CD, nice to see you again, right, lets what I can do here.

First of all I'm using Firefox to view your site link and all looks good. As you can see there are 2 numbers with circles around them

No.1 is your background
No.2 is your template colour.

If I right-click where the 1 is and select 'View Background Image' I get this picture

If I right-click where the No. 2 is I too get a white background. This is because it is or has been coded with either a HEX colour code or freewebs is using a template for that color, or the browser doesn't like it. So if you right-click on it you'll get the white screen when using Firefox but I've just viewed the site with IE6 and when I click on the spot where the No.2 is I see the background picture !!!!

This is quite odd, looks like each browser does one for the other, it works the same here on Runboard too. Some sites look different when viewed with different browsers like IE 6 or later or Firefox.

The rest of the site looks fine, can see the links at the top and the red and yellow text is showing ok too.

Does this answer your question or am I going down the wrong track *groan* bad joke I know

Didn't know you could do any of that, good information. I have reached the point now where I can't see the site as you see it at all. Whether I try to view the site itself or use the Web page Editor, the template, or any part of it, fails to show. This next bit of information may or may not be relevant. On the complex where I live our broadband is supplied by a private company and all the computers on the complex use it. Now at one time or another I have accessed Barchester through four different computers across the complex and I have been checking and all four now show exactly the same as mine. I have also had members across the world on my forum checking for me and all can access Barchester without problems. It also now takes about 50 seconds, sometimes longer, to download the first page. Below is an image of what I see :

Well I don't know for sure what has happened but everything has suddenly come right. I'm hoping for an answer tomorrow and I will get straight back here with it if I do get one in case someone else gets the same problem.

What you was seeing (from your last screenshot) is how your site looks when CSS and Java is disabled...
