How to install Windows Vista from an upgrade disc Follow the instructions for a clean install of Vista but
DO NOT ENTER A PRODUCT KEY WHEN PROMPTED.
Remove the tick for automatic activation and click Next.
Click No to confirm that you do not wish to enter a product key, and then proceed with the installation of Vista as described.
As soon as Vista has been installed, run the Vista Setup program again from within Vista
(not by booting from the CD).
Enter a product key and choose Upgrade instead of Custom installation. Vista will then update itself from a non-licensed version to a licensed version and may then be activated online.
