Elanor Gamgee, Halfling Chef (Hobbit) (Played by Starfighter)
Elanor Gamgee
Halfling Chef
Played by Starfighter
Battle Level 1 (Novice)
Biography: Elanor grew up longing for the world outside the shire. She lives in Hobbitrup, but has family in Bri, so has ventured there from time to time where she has heard tales of the wide world. (or at least the world outside the shire, which is more than most hobbits hear about!)
When Gandalf invited her come to feed the party on the quest, Elanor was quick to pack up and take off.. Weaving the best of her pots on the head to keep it out of harms way, just like the wizard asked her to!

Standing Order for Chef's Meals: B - Better Be Careful -- will eat except when on full Wounds or on 1 Wound.
Remember that you can change your standing order at any time. The change will apply to the current turn only if the Chef's meal hasn't yet been fully prepared (no one yet knows the results).
Skills:
Field Kitchen - Whenever there are no monsters on the board, the Chef may forego movement to cook. He will do this for the whole turn. If he wishes, he may serve up the meal then. His companions declare whether they wish to partake or not and he rolls 1D6 and adds the Power Dice, looking up the result on the table below. The Power Phase determines the random quantity of ingredients. There is nothing magical about this process (despite what some Chefs might hint!), but the Power Dice represents the vague idea of how much food the individual Chef is carrying.
If he is not ready, he may continue cooking. If he does so, the entire of the next turn is taken up with food preparation, and again at the end of the turn he must decide if the meal if ready. If it is, those who are going to eat must declare so. He then rolls 2D6 and adds the Power Dice of the first turn, but not the second.
He may continue to take more time for as long as he likes. For each additional turn he may roll 1 more dice, but only ever add the Power Dice from the first phase. In addition, the longer he spends, the more time that something goes wrong. If ANY of the dice he rolls comes up as a 1, the entire meal counts as Food Poisoning.
If the Chef is interrupted by a Monster Attack while he cooks, the meal is wasted as the Warriors scramble to defend themselves.
If the Chef or another Warrior wishes, they may improve the stock of ingredients by yielding up Provisions. Each Provision adds +1 to the eventual result. In the event of Food Poisoning or of a Monster Attack, these Provisions are wasted.
Note also that although Warriors have the opportunity to refuse to join in the meal (for example if they are on full Wounds or do not want to risk Food Poisoning), other Halflings must roll a 4+ on 1D6 to refuse; otherwise their stomachs decide it’s time to eat.
The Chef gets 5 experience points for each wound restored to another warrior from partaking of his meals.
Equipment:
Lunch Box Once per turn the Halfling Chef may delve into his lunch box to see if he finds a suitable morsel. Roll 1D6, on 4+ he regains 1 wound, even if he was on Zero Wounds while reaching into his lunch box.
Provisions (5x) Restores 2 wounds to the warrior who consumes it. May be administered to a mortally-wounded warrior by an adjacent warrior (succeeds on 1D6 roll of 4+). These provisions may be used to increase the chance of a successful meal by adding +1 to the Field Kitchen Table roll, but see above for more info.
Heavy Wool Sweater - in melee combat and for each non-piercing missile taken on a 1D6 roll of 5+ for each attack it will absorb 1 wound. However, for every blow that does 10 or more total damage (before deductions), if the roll to absorb is a 1 or 2, then the sweater has been partially rent and will no longer provide as much protection. From then on, it requires a 6+ to absorb a wound. If it is ever rent a second time it is totally destroyed.
Special Ingredients (2x) Effects yet to be determined. Just one pouch may be added during the preparation of a single meal with the Field Kitchen. The ingredients (spices and etc...) are likely to cause the meal to have an interesting (if not always helpful) influence upon those who consume it. Always be sure to state that a Special Ingredients pouch is being added before the meal is finished (before rolling the dice on the Field Kitchen Table).
Bandages (1x) - Will restore 3 wounds to a warrior. May be successfully appled to an adjacent warrior on ZERO Wounds if you roll 4+ on 1D6. Otherwise the Bandage is wasted in the attempt. Each Bandage spoils at the end of an adventure on a 1D6 roll of 1, 2 or 3.
Weapons:
Pots and Pans and etc... (Str 2) Act as a melee weapon which does 1D6+2 damage (DD + 2).
Short Bow (Str 1) (does 1D6 + 1 damage) May be fired as many times in one turn as you have attacks to use.
Arrows (2x) Each bundle of arrows is enough for one adventure (or one chapter).
Armour:
The pots and pans, especially the one worn as a helmet, give the Chef +1 Toughness.
Treasures:
CANNOT USE:
Notes:
Provisions for the Adventure - At the beginning of each adventure he will have 2D6 Provisions. These will expire at the end of the dungeon as normal, but he will always have 2D6 more at the beginning of the next, in addition to any he buys.
Halflings and Food - Whenever you want to heal another Warrior with provisions from your store you must first roll 1D6. If the total is under the number of provisions you have left you may heal the other Warrior as normal.
If the result is equal to or more than the number of Provisions you have left the Halfling hides his food and claims he has only a 'few crumbs' left. Once the Halfling has decided he is down to the minimum he may not give up any provisions for the rest of the adventure.
A Halfling Chef may always eat; it is an instinctive reaction that sets his hand reaching into his bag to grab some food. This means a Halfling Chef may attempt to heal himself with any kind of food, even if he is at zero Wounds. He must still roll a 4+ to be successful in his attempt, just as if another Warrior was trying to heal him.
Treasure - The Chef has the same item restrictions as the Halfling Thief.
