| | Personal bio: | I am probably the only blind Runboard member. At first, I admit that I was a little bit apprehensive to let people know this on the boards, but I have since become more comfortable sharing the fact online. I mean, what reason is there, really, to be afraid about that? It'll only make people curious, and that can lead to some pretty interesting conversations.
I live in a little town in Tennessee...so I'm a smalltown gal. :) For the last few months, though, I've been away in the "big city" to learn some transitional skills. I'm hoping to go to college afterward. And after that? Um...I don't know! Pretty much all my life, well most anyway, I've had a dream to do something in music. I really enjoy singing - one of my favorite hobbies. I took piano and voice lessons for almost two years, and I really miss it! I used to sing in churches several years ago; I miss that too! For a long time, I've been praying for God to open a door for me to do that again. Not only did I love doing it, and not only did I have tons of fun doing it, but I also felt very strongly that it was His call on my life. And to be honest, I still feel that way. But, as I need to be reminded daily, He will work that out...in His time, not mine! Earlier this year, I was watching a program where singer Meredith Andrews was talking about how she'd prayed about doing music, and she said God told her to just be faithful where she was at the time. I think that's what I need to do, too, even if it is just in my bedroom with a microphone. Hey, I do have an audience! :) |
